Excellent for beginners.

This is an excellent book for beginners, I just got it and I'm already enjoying it. If you play the Acoustic guitar and you're not an expert that you can play songs and write notes only by listening to them - this book is for you. Bridge Over Troubled Water and Mrs. Robinson are only 2 of the great hits you'll find in this book. Here is the list of songs: America, Bookends, Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Cecilia, El Condor Pass, For Emily, Whenever I Might Find Her, Homeward Bound, I Am A Rock, Kathy's Song, Mrs. Robinson, Scarborough Fair/Canticle, The Boxer

Good for beginners but not perfect

Songs within are Bridge Over Troubled Water, Mrs. Robinson, the Sounds of Silence, The Boxer, The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy), Scarborough Fair - Canticle, I Am a Rock, Kathy's Song, Cecillia, America, Bookends, Homeward Bound, El Condor Pasa, For Emily Whenever I May Find Her.
There are words with each song. Songs match the CD with the same title and cover picture. Except I can't get the Boxer to match the one on the CD.
Doesn't have the usual note guide with it. I'm a beginner so this book is a stretch.

Good Transcriptions

Very good note for note transcriptions of the songs.
To the person who couldn't get boxer to match : The book says no capo required. This is misleading. The recording is tuned one step lower than standard tuning. So you need a capo at the -2 fret :) If you want to match the recording, you will have to retune. The publisher assumed most people wouldnt want to do that, so they just said no capo required.

Toronto-based author and wine critic John Szabo was the first Canadian to add the Master Sommelier credentials to his name in 2004. He was listed as "Canada's best-known sommelier" in Meininger's Wine Business International in 2012. John is a partner and principal critic for WineAlign.com and wine columnist for Ricardo, ModaLina, and CityBites magazines. He writes occasionally for US-based Wine & Spirits Magazine, and has published in Nation's Restaurant News, En Route Magazine, the Globe and Mail, the National Post, Vines Magazine, and Wine Access Magazine, among others. Past books include Pairing Food and Wine For Dummies (Wiley, December 2012), and Sommelier Management (Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers, Revised Edition 2013). John has appeared on CTV National News, Breakfast Television, The Morning Show, TVOntario, CityTV, and CBC TV and has been a regular guest on classical 96.3FM for many years.John also consults on restaurant beverage programs, from small neighbourhood operations to national chains. What a wonderful publication! Excellently researched and well written, it's an extremely informative read. Wine aficionados will appreciate the insights and the detail but, additionally, a colourful presentation of maps, charts, labels and stunning photography, all in a beautiful layout, will ensure that even those with just a casual appreciation of fine wine will be enthralled. Very lucid and practical ebook!

I bought this because I wanted to backtest timing strategies with Excel and I am not disappointed! This ebook is very well written and full of great practical tips for the first-time backtester. The models are simple (no multi-asset models, simply models for timing individual assets like ETFs based on moving averages of all sorts), but the text is very lucid and well organized. The author shows that he is really experienced with backtesting and trading, so this is not just theory.

I really enjoyed this book and read it out in one flow. The only remark I have is that if you are just want to read this book for its practical tips (like me) without doing the test yourselves with Excel simultaneously, you might be distracted by all the references to Excel. The accompanying Excel sheet itself looks like a great tool, however, so I recommend playing with it.

Finally, given its low price and valuable contents, this is a great buy!

A real great job

Very very good backtesting method for as far i can tell now. Amazing job for only 10 bucks. It feels like charity :)

I wonder why i used Metastock before which was totally crap and expensive for backtesting. This does it all. Though you still should do some programming in excel with your own formula's but the hardest part is done. Thanks a lot for this treat.

Worth Every Cent - Excellent Backtesting System

The book and the accompanying spreadsheets definitely over-deliver. Whilst the backtesting system is easily useable by a complete beginner, it caters for more advanced users as well.

I liked the fact that you can add your own technical indicators as well. It was really easy to add columns with the Average True Range, Donchian Channels, etc.

Patrick also has a Youtube channel with videos further explaining the use of his backtesting system.

I like the fact that it runs on Excel rather than proprietary software. It was easy to adapt the macros to my backtesting system.

The only caveat is that it won't run on Excel for Mac (the VBA macro language doesn't have complete functionality). I got it running by using Excel for Windows running within Crossover.

About the Author
Marie-Claire Blais is the author of more than 20 novels, 5 plays, and collections of poetry and short stories. She is the recipient of the Prix France-Canada and the prestigious Prix Médicis and was the first North American writer invited to join Belgium's prestigious Academy of French Language and Literature. She lives in Key West, Florida. Mary Meigs is an American painter who emigrated to Canada and is best known for her literary contributions. Derek Coltman has worked as a translator for more than five decades and has translated many of the most recognized contemporary French authors. Priscila Uppal is a poet, a fiction writer, and a professor of humanities and English at York University. Her work has been translated into Croatian, Dutch, Greek, Italian, Korean, and Latvian. She lives in Toronto, Ontario.
